Centennial Cascade with Cereal

This is beer 7 in our 2 hop series. This takes the base centennial and cascade and adds cereal. I have not brewed a beer with cereal so b/c we are test and making new beers I wanted to make one. I think this cereal will add a fruit flavor to the beer. Here is the recipe I used. This was for a 1.25 gallons going into the carboy.

2 LBS 4 oz 2-Row

2 cups cereal

.25 oz Centennial 60 mins

.25 oz Cascade 10 mins

.25 oz Centennial 5 mins

.25 oz of both 3 days into fermentation

US-05 Yeast

Color: Bright yellow. NE IPA

Smell: cereal wheat citrus

Taste: Wheat cereal lots of grapefruit.

Overall: I think this needs a lot more cereal. The cereal did bring out the grapefruit in this homebrew.

Tasting 2 was done with all 20 beers. Check that video out here 20 beer side by side

Tasting 3

Color: Bright yellow

Smell: Light bread. No hop smell. Almost to the Pilsner smell

Taste: Light bread with lemon citrus. I think the hops are getting old in this one and thats why we are getting that lemon citrus. I dont think the lemon citrus is from the hops

Overall: Not one that I would make or let age.
