Sorachi Ace 2-Row

I wanted to brew a small batch with hops and a malt that I have not used before. Sorachi Ace is a hop that I have not used in a home brew. I have use Sorachi Ace with white wheat and I did like that so lets make it with 2-Row and see what we get. Here is the recipe I used for this small batch beer(1.25 gallons into the carboy)

2 LBs 4 oz 2-Row

.25 oz Sorachi Ace @30 mins

.25 oz Sorachi Ace @5 mins

.25 oz Sorachi Ace 3 days for dry hop

US-05 yeast

Color: Lemon yellow very light in color. Lots of haze

Smell: Lemon citrus hint of toasted bread

Taste: Lemon tart citrus. Hint of malt. Dill in the back.

Overall: This batch is using different boil times for the hops so maybe using SA at 30 mins might be bring out the citrus more. Next tasting Im thinking we are going to get more dill out of this one. I would like to see more dill in this one but I think most people would like this one as it is now.

Tasting 2

Color: Bright Yellow. Looks like a Pale Ale.

Smell: Nice Dill with a hint of citrus. Picking up some malt sweetness

Taste: Good citrus dill. Some toasted bread. I think you would get some bread out of this as we are using 2-Row.

Overall: I like this version of it. I think the 2-Row does help with a backbone in this homebrew.
