El Dorado 2-Row Maris Otter
El Dorado hops should smell and taste like Tropical Fruit, pineapple and Mango with aromas of pear, watermelon, stone fruit and candy. This is my Forth batch using El Dorado. Here is the recipe I used:
1 LBS 8 oz 2-Row
1 LB Maris Otter
.39 oz El Dorado @ 30 mins
.29 oz El Dorado @ 5 mins
.5 oz El Dorado WP 170 for 15 mins
US-05 Yeast
.32 oz El Dorado Dry hop 3 Days
7.39% ABV
Color: Hazy burnt orange
Smell: Fruity pear watermelon
Taste: Big malt tropical fruit
Overall: I think the whirlpool was a good think on this one. I would like to see the malt turned down on this one. Im not sure why Im picking up more malt on this one vs the one with all Maris Otter.
