El Dorado 2-Row SMaSH S04
El Dorado hops should smell and taste like Tropical Fruit, pineapple and Mango with aromas of pear, watermelon, stone fruit and candy. This is my first batch using El Dorado. Here is the recipe I used:
2 LBS 8 oz 2-ROW
.39 oz El Dorado @ 30 mins
.29 oz El Dorado @ 5 mins
S04 Yeast
.32 oz El Dorado 3 Days dry hop
Color: Bright yellow hazy
Smell: Sweet pineapple hint of sweet fruit
Taste: Smooth lemon citrus tropical fruit
Overall: Very smooth vs the US-05 version. I think the S04 is bringing out the citrus in this one and El Dorado doesnt show citrus. I think right now El Dorado hops plays well with other hops and doesnt bring a lot when its on its own.
