Rakau Pilsner SMaSH

Im not sure I have had a craft beer with Rakau hops in them. I found this hop at my LHBS and was like sure lets make a SMaSH beer and see what we get. Rakau hops are dual purpose with armoa of tropical fruit, passionfruit and peach. This SMaSH beer will be 1.25 gallons. Here is the recipe I used.

2 LBS 4 oz Pilsner Malt

.25 Rakau @30 mins

.25 Rakau @10 mins

.25 Rakau @5 mins

.25 Rakau @1 min

US-05 Yeast

Color: Orange very hazy

Smell: Citrus dank fruit with a hint of sweetness

Taste: Thick Fruit malt

Overall: Im not sure why this homebrew is thick. Its using pilsner malt. 14 Brix down to 8 Brix so we should have some more sugar. Maybe thats why its thicker? Its ok we will have to see what this does in the next month.

Tasting 2

Color: Light bright yellow

Smell: Hint of floral and citrus

Tasting: Citrus floral with some fruit in back. Cracker taste. I think this is from the pilsner malt

Overall: For the taste profile I think the body is a little heavy.
